Discover Kunanyi / Mt Wellington

In winter, you may even find yourself playing in the snow. However, no matter the season, this experience gives you the chance to visit the iconic kunanyi/Mt Wellington. Moreover, the mountain showcases several unique ecosystems, allowing you to appreciate the beauty of the harsh alpine landscape.

As we travel upward, we stop halfway at The Springs, where you may purchase a hot drink (subject to availability). Afterwards, you can take a short and easy walk around the Exhibition Garden Circuit, which provides a peaceful moment to enjoy the fresh mountain air.

Explore the Organ Pipes & Summit Views

Then, the journey continues toward the impressive Organ Pipes, a remarkable natural rock formation shaped by millions of years of volcanic activity. In addition, the higher altitude offers cooler temperatures and breathtaking scenery.

At the summit of kunanyi/Mt Wellington, you’ll enjoy a brief guided walk to the observatory. From here, you can admire panoramic views of Hobart, its surrounding suburbs, and the vast waterways of the Derwent River. The scenery is spectacular, especially on a clear day.

Cascade Gardens Visit

Finally, after descending from the mountain, we visit the charming Cascade Gardens. This stop gives you another opportunity to take photos, enjoy the surroundings, and walk through the tranquil garden pathways before the tour concludes.
